Hanging out at home or working hard recording the new album???

Ok, kind of a trick question...because the answer is BOTH! We have built a studio to record our latest album that is due out this summer. This page will walk you through the entire process, the good...the bad...and the very ugly.

Love,
NAVAR

The construction days..... (Last week and a half in January)

Before I begin, Ben wants me to make sure that I tell you all that he did everything. Here is the deal, we got bumped out of our original studio session due to a platinum selling artist "borrowing" our most recent engineer/producer and we were faced with months of delays. The music that we have been developing truly can't wait...so we decided to build our own studio! It is now the beginning of February and we have the ability to record our own album. As long as Kip (err...I mean Ben) and I don't kill each other in the process, this next release will be the first time that you will get a real taste of NAVAR and what we are all about. The flexibility and the freedom (that Skippy comments on about 5 times in the video to the right) will allow us to truly express ourselves without any hindrances (like time, money and pride). It will be something...

Day 1

Oh Tim... this is your time to shine. When doing a rock and roll recording (the way we do anyway), the drum tracks are always the first to be recorded... so all the drums for every song are recorded before we do anything else. Tim has to work continuously and diligently for these first few days, and then he's home free. Click on the link to the right to view segments of Day 1 of the recording of the new album. Enjoy!

Day 2

Ahh, day 2 and we are all still alive. I want everyone to know that immediately after the "messing with Tim" portion of this video...we all had a good laugh together. We are a bit behind, but the quality of what we are capturing is fantastic...so I really don't care!

Day 3

Don't think we don't all get captured at our most candid and questionable moments. Day three seems to capture the true star of the band (me), looking less like a rock star and more like a rock. Please don't miss this one--great video of Tim's dance interpretation (his cycle) of the new song "Raining."

Day 4

Hand percussion, trippy dream sequences a Skippy hip dance... Day 4 has it all!!

Day 5

Well I guess it's my time to shine. Twelve straight hours on the same song may not be shining, but by god things got done!... eventually. Tim shot the video with a multitude of camera angles. I didn't have much content except for my face to work with, so I had some fun with effects and transitions. Take note. Enjoy.
