Wow, what a whirlwind couple of days! I am in San Francisco and its absolutely gorgeous! The sun is shining and I have a great big NAVAR show to look forward to in just 2 days! I can't wait to see you all...it will be wonderful.
I will write again later. Miss you!

A myspace post and a Navar.net post all in one day? No way...
I got one of those little ipod shuffles since Mike stole my ipod...and it might be the coolest inventions known to man. I mean, its great to carry all your songs in your pocket with a 60gig ipod...but the shuffle is so damn exciting. I mean, I fill it to the brim with all my favorite songs and then just let it go crazy.
I did a fun set last night at Encore and a bunch of friends came out to support...it was great.
Hmmm...
That's about it for now. Miss you...

I just looked at the weather forecast and it's going to be 80 degrees and clear skies for the next 10 years... I was able to enjoy my first double double in and out burger in about 7 years. I took a run on Melrose this morning. California living is tough... I am here in LA enjoying the day, only to fly back to NY early tomorrow morning. I hear we are about to get quite a storm there...I only hope I get stranded in Minnesota or something :) I miss you all, will write more later. Love pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

There is an ocean of lights in front of me...I think I'll at least dip my toes in... Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
As I type this I am standing at the upper inspiration point of Bryce Canyon. I have never seen anything like this...truly a breathtaking sight. The rocks and mountains eroded and shaped, the same way life does to us. First chiseling us into our strongest form....then wearing us down in the end. I don't mean that to sound depressing...its just the way it is. What we do with our rock while we're still standing tall is all that matters. Ok, enough already Pat. Ill be stopping in Vegas Baby Vegas in a few hours...NICE! No big deal... Love, Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
I have passed into Utah and just saw the most gorgeous sunset. It reminded me of the few days I spent on top of OP round in the middle of the mojave with Hibbard for the marines (when and where the cover of our first album was taken. I have never been to or through Utah...or many of these states for that matter. I did some writing today and I look forward to getting back upstate and building the new studio so we can make the new album. Are you guys ready for it? I sure am. Bowie's greatest hits are on and the road keeps passing underneath me. I hope your night brings you good times and sweet dreams! Love pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Oh Tim is going to be upset...I just passed John Elway's Chevrolet dealership. We had a 16 hour day and hope to make it to Las Vegas tonight. As I twist and turn through the rockies I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the beauty that the windows are sharing. Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Well I'm passing through oklahoma...just got though the hometown of Carrie Underwood. Yep, its true...I am driving across country with my good friend Jenn as she makes the move to LA. A Lewis Black cd is spinning and life is good. Watching the superbowl halftime show made me truly miss everyone...and I can't wait to play again. We've still got a long way to go, but I will try and fill you in on any exciting happenings. Miss you all... Love pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

I am exhausted....what a wonderful show we had at JT the other night. Thanks to all who participated in performing and coordinating such a killer event. That was one of the more special and memorable shows yet. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with pride and emotions as I stood on stage...performing with my brothers and sharing my most sacred gifts with you all. THAT was what it's all about.
I don't have a lot to share right now. We are continuing to write songs for the new album....one that I can already tell will carry the tradition of raising the bar for us.
I look out the window and see Wall st. All those stock brokers busy to make the next sale. I guess we all tend to be hungry for something in our own way. I too am hungry...so I guess I'll grab a bite. Love you all....
Always here...always pat

Represent! Ali G has been a staple of the TV viewing during the past two days. Ben got season 1 +2 and we have been plowing through them religiously. He and I spent the night last night working towards finishing up a few tracks on the upcoming Anna May album and it's turning out great. I believe that tonight we will do the same.
We will be getting together to practice either tomorrow night or Thursday and I am excited about rocking out again. John is back at college and I have been down in NYC...so it has been too long.
The show this weekend is definitely going to be killer and I hope you all can make it! The forum on Navar Nation has been going crazy too...and I can't thank you all enough for keeping it interesting and exciting.
Love pat

Here's the deal, I am trying to stagger my postings between this page and my MYSPACE PAGE...so make sure you check both for updates from me.
I am still in NYC, enjoying some time with my friends and getting my 2006 plan in order. The band has been getting crazy with writing for the next album and new/info on that will start coming in at a steady pace. I am really looking forward to the show next weekend at the Jasper High School...should be a great time and I hope you all can make it!
The weather has been all over the place this past week...from sunny and 50's to freezing and snowing...but I guess that is how it goes when you live up here. I am working with Cozzinet to develop NAVAR Nation version 2.0...so if you have anything suggestions, thoughts or complaints please feel free to email them to me. It will be an better integrated site...so NAVAR.net and NavarNation.com will be one.
The times...they are indeed a changin and that will be very evident soon. I look for this to be a huge year though...one for all of us to remember. This is our chance to turn it all around...

I am tired and sick...and it is miserable outside....
BUT
I am going to Stamford and Gloucester this weekend...so I have much to smile about!
I have also been doing a ton of recording and writing lately. The new album is already in pre-production and things are getting closer to completion on the Anna May project! I saw King Kong yesterday with my little bro and Ben. It was long but absolutely breath taking at times. We are packing up and heading down to CT soon, I just wanted to drop a note to tell ya that I love and miss you.
Always, pat

Howdy friends!
I know it's been a while, but if you have been keeping tabs on me...you know I've had an incredibly busy, hectic and emotional time lately! It's all good though, I sometimes feel like I thrive on these types of situations. I just wrapped up a project that was promoted on the main page and am truly honored to be a part of it. I think it is a little piece of NAVAR history worth picking up..even if it's just for fun.
I have been recording the lovely and talented Anna May at Sea Legs this past month and I can't possibly tell you how excited I am about the release. It has been a wonderful challenge to capture their full out rock sound and I can't wait for you to hear it when its finished.
We have played a number of local shows lately, thanks mainly to Anna May and their constant bookings! And here I thought I was going to have a little bit of a break during the Fall :)
I know that a lot has gone down these past few months and I am truly thankful for all of you who still care and support. These last few shows have brought many fans to travel great distances during harsh weather conditions...and for that I am truly honored. For those of you who know or have met me...I hope you realize that I think of you as close and dear friends. I don't know what I'd do without you.
THAT all being said...consider 2006 to be a big year. I am looking forward to giving it my all and seeing how far we can take this thing together. I hope you all are enjoying the holidays. It is a wonderful time to share with loved ones...something I have truly depended on in a major way lately.
Take care and I look forward to seeing you all VERY VERY soon!

1971 - 2005 You will be forever loved...and forever missedI know I havent written in a while...but it's not from a lack of news. I hope you understand that I have needed some time to say goodbye to a dear friend. I love you all and look forward to all the wonderful memories that we will share. Love, pat

As I sit here, admiring a gorgeous fall afternoon in upstate NY...I must say that life is good. The big chunk of our tour is over, and now it's time to reflect and learn from it all. This is our first true taste of life as a professional musician...regrouping back home in order to head back with even more intensity and focus than the last time.
We have some local shows coming up, including a show in Hornell at the end of the month...hopefully with a halloween theme :)
There is a new section posted on the navar nation called the Band Scrapbook. While only a few things are posted, that will be the place to follow our travels through pictures and descriptions.
I have done a lot of writing lately, look for another album by mid 2006 at the latest. No promises though (other than the fact that we will put the lyrics in the CD booklet).
A lot is going on and I truly appreciate all the help and support that everyone has offered. We are against great odds, but that only makes the triumph in the end that much sweeter. I miss you all and cant wait to see you soon. All ages shows on the way..I promise!!

Just another update. Ben and I are standing here, listening to the legendary Joan Baez sing it's hard rain gonna fall by the Washington monument. One of the most important moments of my life...I already know it Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
I am at the national book festival in Washington right now. The Washington monument to my right and the White House to my left. I was just a few feet from Skippy's comic idol Neil Gaiman. I look forward to coming to this event again to see my mom do a reading. Miss you guys more than you know! Love, Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

It's a little after midnight and we are heading away from Columbus. Tonight's show was fun and we even had a few myspace friends come out to see us. The venue (little brothers) was very cool and the sound was sweet. We played a usual set but included Naveed. Sunday night Ben and I took a trip up to Rochester and had a good time with our friend Matt and his wife Dawn. It was supposed to be an IFC championship fight but there was some mixup...so we went out for a few tall boys of ale at the local Applebees. Getting the chance hang out and just talk made the night a great one. The past few shows were awesome NYC on Friday rocked. We ended up playing with a band that had a member of the Polyphonic Spree in it, so that rocked. My friend Vic came out with an entire crew...and so did POD and the gang. Mikey L, Mark, Leighann and a Russian waitress we had also showed up. It was a good time that left us tired gents on Saturday. Shinglehouse rocked! We had a great crowd and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces dancing, smiling and singing along. Well I'm tired and need some rest. We have six shows this week and I am going to need all the energy I can get! Love you all and miss you very much. Hope to see you soon! Love Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Back in NYC for our show at Kenny's Castaway tonight. This will be our last one for a month or so and its during CMJ so it should be a good one. Skippy was just crying about a lost comic book and Ben is being....well..Ben...so that's stressful. I miss you all though. Baltimore was fun. I got to hang out with my good friend Claire and her friend Margaret and then had a high school pal Karri come out to the show at the Mojo. We got kicked out of a lot of places the past few days. I am feeling more like a gypsy than ever. We stopped in NJ for a bit to drop off the trailer. I will write after the show...I don't nearly enough. Take care and spend some time chatting on the www.navarnation.com forum....its heating up!! Love, Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

We are on our way to Baltimore...no looking back. Last night's show for the hurricane benefit in Alfred was a blast...truly refreshing. Most would assume that I have begun writing again...and they are right...but not about the usual stuff. I feel like a no holds barred version of myself...and a dose of maturity and focus has been thrown into the mix. I feel ready. I look forward to writing more and often...I think I need it. Oh yes, I am aware that it's been waaaay too long since I have written...but it's not from a lack of things to say. The tour has been rocking, with killer shows in Columbus and Rochester these past few days. I am currently on 80 East...riding shotgun with Skippy manninh the helm of the Triple Lindy. We are on our way to our show tonight in Brooklyn. Updates have been slim and I don't really have a good explanation for it. When we get into the city I hope to post a ton of pictures to www.navarnation.com so look for that. We had so many familiar faces out to last night's show at Milestones...including Fillmore Central alum (where I went to high school) Matt Jeffords and his beautiful wife. It's so cool to meet up with old friends that you have lost touch with. Matt, Ben and I used to hang out together back in the day. One memorable moment was back when I was in high school and we went to a graduation party in Ormel where we almost got into a fight because my little scrawny 9th grade ass was dancing with a Belfast girl and her boyfriend didn't apprreciate it. Good times filled with a face that was sore from laughing so hard for so long and Lenny Kravitz on Repeat 1. I miss you all very much and hope to see you soon! We have been adding tour dates constantly, so please check the tour page often for updates, changes and additions. I have the new Our Lady Peace album...full thoughts in my next update..just know that it brought me to tears. Love and Trust, Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

We spent all day yesterday enjoying an ocean breeze at the Sandy Hook beach in NJ. It's gorgeous there, water as far as the eye can see and the NYC skyline off in the distance. I attempted to ride a few waves and only caught a few. Skippy built a sand snowman..something he has been talking about since the start of the tour. Tim is feeling better and in higher spirits and Benny is madly working on his school work.
I have been well, reading and learning some new songs. We have stayed with my good friend Tom Ruff and his wife Alison in Tinton Falls NJ for the past few days...thank God for kind, hospitable people! We eat at a place called the Pour House last night for dinner and I had a cup of insanely good french onion soup and a rueben.
The new nation is up (www.navarnation.com) so I ask you to check it out when you have a minute. If you find any problems, please post it on the support forum located in the navar nation forums. We are truly trying to create a unique online community for the band and all of you to communicate and share our thoughts, so check it out and post often...about anything you want! :)
We are playing a big show at Arlene Grocery tonight in NYC...it should rock. Look for even more pictures and video from the tour posted on www.navarnation.com very soon! Take care and I hope all is well! Do you have a "Touch of Class" yet??
Love pat

Thanks to Jeff at the Rhumbline, we are currently in the middle of the atlantic ocean on Capt. Bill's ship on a whale watching tour. They care taking care of the boys in NAVAR, with drinks on the house care of today's captain Mark. It's a tough life :) Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

I just had a cup of the finest clam chowder known to man....here in gloucester at the rhumbline. Life is good. I got kicked out of Harvard the other day for playing guitar and singing on the steps of the main administration building...full story to come soon. I love and miss you all. The shows have been going great and I have a feeling that they are only gonna get better. We haven't had a lot of internet access so when we do we will have lots of pictures and video to post. Have a gorgeous night friends...I can't wait to see you all soon!! Love Pat Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

New York City always seemed like such a distant and foreign place to me as a kid...and now I find myself here all the time. We are hanging out for the day, promoting the show and getting some rest...should be a fun night. The Continental has had good sound in the past and a bunch of my friends have been known to come out and support us...so I am keeping my fingers crossed for that.
We took another run this morning...it's good for morale and keeping the joints working. We have to find ways to make this work...and I and determined to do so. We have to make an impact wherever we play. This will be harder than I thought, but I think with a bit of time we will all become much better at it.
I just restrung my guitar and polished it up. I feel good about tonight. Will it be a magical performance?

I posted on the Nation last night, but I want to make sure I write something here as much as possible. We are in Hartford CT and are just about to shove off to Rhode Island for our first show of the tour. I don't know what to expect. I want to tell you what life is like on the road...but I want to wait until we are out here for a week or two.
We got up and took a group run this morning...brings me back to the days of PT in the Marines. I don't know...a lot of this adventure so far reminds me of those days...but in a good way.
I miss you all and can't wait to play for you. I feel we have taken this all to another level and I couldn't be more excited about it. We will be updating and writing constantly...so check back often. We will make you proud, we won't let you down...
Love Pat

It's been WWAAAAYYYY too long since I have written on this page...I'm sorry! With the myspace site and the NAVAR Nation I just get caught up in other updates and this one seems to suffer.
The new album is at ESP in Buffalo right now being manufactured and it looks like it will be ready for release at the end of next week. We have started an intense rehearsal schedule in preparation for next month's tour kick-off and it feels great to be playing and progressing together.
I went to the Wellsville balloon rally last night. It was the first time I had ever been to it...very cool event. Of course I was there to support the lovely and talented Brittany Garrison for her big full production multimedia extravaganza and it was an amazing performance as always.
Benny got a new bass and it is gorgeous...makes me want to get a new guitar :)
Skippy had wept 5 times this week. Situation = Normal
Tim's eyes almost fell out and had to go to the eye doctor for it. I think it was just an excuse because the very next day Adam tried to use it for sympathy too.
I have made some new friends with the guys from Anna May recently. They will be playing with us at the Water Street show next week and at the Maple Bowl music fest at the end of the month.
Big shows coming up, a brand new friggin album with all new songs is about to be released and the NAVAR boys will be hitting the road to see the world one town at a time. Life is good and it's getting better everyday. Keep on rockin' friends!

I was just reading this article and I'm getting a little freaked out:
NEW YORK - Thrust unexpectedly into the role of prison guards for Saddam Hussein, several young American soldiers found the deposed Iraqi leader to be a friendly, talkative “clean freak” who loved Raisin Bran for breakfast, could down a large bag of Doritos in 10 minutes and insisted he was still president of Iraq, the men said in an interview published Monday and in comments on NBC's "Today" show.
I only hope that the similarities between Tim and Saddam end with the Doritos.
We had a great show at Club Boomers this past weekend in Scio NY and I have posted some live footage on the NAVAR Nation. Check it out HERE.
I have been listening to the new Coldplay album a lot lately and it has brought me to tears a few more times than I am comfortable telling. I am getting very excited about the upcoming tour and album…it’s going to be one wild ride! Take care and I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Ahh, sitting here...listening to the new Better than Ezra album..enjoying the sunny day! For those who listen to Unkle Justin on WKPQ (which you all should!), here is the photo he was talking about from last weekend's show:

I don’t know how Adam was able to snap this picture...but it truly shows the energy of that show at Music is Art 2005! A few things I want to touch on... I had a few emails about Tim "baking" crackers. NO he doesn’t actually make crackers, he just seasons oyster crackers by covering them with stuff and sticking them in the oven for a few minutes. YES I rip on him for this because he seems to think that he is Emeril friggin Lagasse because of it! Ben hasn't posted in months...even Tim has posted! He must be sipping scotch and reading leather bound books. Skippy and I got into an argument the other day. We were in Wellsville at Better Days for our weekly "wing night" gathering and while out by the car we ended up having a few differences in opinion. What you all need to know is that this is a very emotional business and being in a band is kinda like being married to 3 other personalities, attitudes, outlooks and demeanors. Sometimes the stress builds up and we kinda crack...but we still love each other like brothers and find ways to get it back to good. A police cruiser pulled up and asked if everything was ok. I told him we were in a band and just having a heated discussion. We've been having a few good laughs about it ever since :) Well the album is getting mastered and will be out in weeks! It will be called "Touch of Class" and here is the track listing: Coming For You American Romantic Raining Make it to Forever Everywhere With Me Touch of Class Keep it to Yourself Smile Please God Change With Him Dreams Also, check out http://www.navarnation.com if you haven't already. I posted a new video update last night... And...NO WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP!!! We are going out on tour this fall for an indefinite period of time and through these sites...we are taking you all with us!! Visit the Nation for all the details.
Friday, May 27, 2005
So the album will be finished in about a week and released late June/early July...how cool is that?? We moved the studio around a bit and I like the new setup. I will be posting a new video later tonight on the NAVAR Nation showing Skippy and his light saber skills. We have a ton of shows coming up and a MAJOR announcement next week!!!
I also posted a new song on the NAVAR Nation entitled "Keep it to Yourself." It is not a final mix, but I think you will dig the song.
Ok, stupid update and I'm sorry! Back to work on the album...

It is my last night in San Diego and I am ready to be home. The album HAS to be finished and we have shows to play!! Last week was fantastic and it was great to go out drinkin with the boys of Reel Big Fish.
I know the new NAVAR Nation has had some technical difficulties...but it will be up with even more functionality very soon.
I'm having a great time here in California...even though my craving to do Ron Burgandy impersonations is probably getting annoying. I also got to hang out at Croce's which is the late Jim Croce's widows restaurant and bar here in San Diego. I am sunburned and looking forward to the wonderful summer NAVAR has in store!!!!
I love and miss you all. I was so excited to meet all of you during this past week during our shows with RBF. Please shoot me an email and let me know what you thought of the show. Audio/pictures/video from those shows will be posted very very soon. Hope to see you soon!

Well here I am...in the backseat of Skippy's car...stretched acrossed both seats on our way to the Dashboard Confessional in Brockport. Ben and Aaron Bartz are gonna meet us there. Hectic but exciting week I'm having... I truly cannot wait to play the next two shows. I will update as much as possible during the next few days...should be interesting. Keeping checking www.NAVARNATION.com for the launch of our new official fan site..it will have lots of unreleased and members only media...and it's ALL COMPLETELY FREE!!!

Ahh, what a beautiful day here in upstate NY. I just got done with an interview with SBU-TV and am enjoying the cool blue sky. I hear it is going to snow this weekend...after its been in the 60's and 70's. I guess we all choose where we live to an extent so I can't complain too much.
We have gotten a lot of cool shows lately and have been busy working on some big doings for the coming months. I recorded some vocals last night and will continue to do so every chance i get this next week. The release date is early June and I am going to stick to that! I have been getting such cool email from you guys and it has really made this spring and working hard on the new album a blast!
We have Ben's dog Molly and Skippy's Mom's dog Reagan at the house for the weekend and it's getting crazy.
That's about it for now. We are getting the brand spanking new NAVAR Nation site up this week and it will truly revolutionalize the way that bands and music fans interact and grow together. It will start small and then grow into a living organism that will take over the world...just you watch!!
Take care guys. Please keep those emails coming...they make my day every single time!

Wow, what an exciting weekend that was! The Buffalo show with More Than Me and Scott Celani was a blast and then Saturday night's Teen Tinnitus was a huge success! Many thanks to everyone who came out and rocked the night away with us, it was so good to see you all. I am going to focus on the album this week and try and get things wrapped up. Skip has some killer guitar parts he will be adding and then we will get some lead and backup vocals done. I will try and get some video of it up this week, as well as the footage from Saturday night's show.
I hope all is well with you. Take care and we will see you all very soon...no matter where you live!

Big things happened today...I actually drove for a few hours! We stopped at a rest stop on the thruway only to see that they only sold coke products. For those of you who know Tim, you obviously know that he only has two main food groups...mountain dew and doritos. We searched this place high and low for a can of dew and then sternly corrected me when I asked if Mello Yellow was close enough. The aggitated Timbo then looked up and asked God if he was playing some kind of sick joke on him (and yes, he really did say that out loud). A defeated tim looked at me before heading back into the small food store and said "If they don't have any Doritos...I am going to kill someone."
No Doritos...just generic nacho flavored tortilla chips. Heheheheh
Ben, Skip and I got a few good chuckles out of this display...only wish we had some of it on film.
Last nights show was pretty cool. We had a bunch of friends out had some fun rocking out some old and new songs.
It is raining now though and we are driving into the city. I am really looking forward to playing the continental and sharing some NAVAR with NYC's hippest rock crowd.
Love you all and I will write tonight or tomorrow about the show.
See you soon!

Ben and I are on our way to the show tonight at the water street music hall and Ben is driving. He said he's driving because he doesn't want me to stress out about the show and the logistics of the weekend. That explains why he is yelling at me about how late we are. Situation = Normal.
Skip and Tim are already at the venue...probably driving eachother crazy in many subtle ways. I guess the atomic swindlers have some big multimedia show planned for this evening...should be interesting. Much love goes out my boys in RELEASE on getting a show with Flickerstick in Hartford. I had us a show with Flickerstick in Buffalo and then the local promoter pulled us out of it because he had never heard of us...SWEET! Nothing better than getting major management into you playing with their bands only to have a local joe ruin your weekend.
Love you all, many major announcements on the way. I hope to make you proud.
Love pat
With a Rochester show tonight...I fear Ben's need to find a mechanical bull at a local country bar and truly hurt himself (both pride and body). NYC tomorrow night with hours in the car in between...life is good. Gonna get the oil changed, finally get my car inspected and hit the road for some sweet ass rock and roll times.
Ben spends a little too much time alone on the back porch...by the river. Would someone, ANYONE join him?

I love you brother.Love, Maximus of Belmont

Well I am on my way to the show tonight at Third Base in Olean...should be a great time. Ben has his turbo glasses so situation = normal. The connecticut band Release is opening the show and will be recording at the NAVAR studio tomorrow...good times. Ok, this has been a totally lame post and I am sorry for that.

I got my haircut this past weekend and it's the shortest it's been in a year...crazy. My best bud Hibbard is back from Africa and I look forward to spending some time with that leatherneck in the near future. We are actually heading up to the Big Ass Comedy Fest with Artie Lange from the Howard Stern show in a couple of weeks...should be a blast.
There is a demo version of one of the new songs posted on our myspace page...check it out here.
I hope you like it!

More cowbell!
Ahh, just had a few Eggo waffles and I'm ready to work on the album! For just a quick, cute update...here is my good bud LJ:
That was from the Yahoo personals site and when he isn't auditioning for soap opera roles he is modeling for these kinds of things. Congrats LJ...I hear Paris is lovely in the springtime!

It's been a long day and I need a haircut...bad. Tonight I will be recording some vocals for Everywhere with Me in order to get it on some big submissions that need to go out this week. Tomorrow morning I am heading down to Florida to meet up with Ben for a few days. Cleaning out and moving my grandparents things...will be a sad but positively nostalgic time. Ben and I are driving back home this coming weekend...straight through. There is a 79% chance that we will kill eachother in the process. Miss y'all and love you very much. See you soon!

Mighty Dan from Brockport
Today...my friend...there is no need to feel inferior with this gem:
Goldilocks at Work
He sits there at his half-cubicle, cold cup of joe in his strong manly hands, Heckling me from his rotating black-backed chair, sitting a little higher than mine to show authority over me. His long locks of gold and mustard cover his eyes, showing now his gaze, but a mystery unfolding through his harsh and painful words... Yet something remains that keeps my interest- Could it be that he is a living legend, exploding in the music scene? Or is it because he displays a hippy way of life, desirable to many? Whatever it is, he is always at work under those long locks of wisdom... Indeed, Goldilocks is always at work.
That was a poem that one of Ben's co-workers wrote.....
Love, Pat

It is a beautiful day in upstate New York and I just got to enjoy some of it during my walk around downtown Olean. I was also blessed with some left-over garlic chicken....life is good. Tonight we practice at the belmont house (Cleverly and tentatively title "Barlindyakmont" studios) in preparation for the 3 shows this week. Love and miss you all, can't wait to see you soon!

Sorry for the lame-o last post, I just wanted to make sure that you all knew how tight we really are. The drums are finished and I am currently recording Ben as he lays down some "tasty" bass lines. I know how stupid that sounded...it was on purpose.
This is, by far, the greatest thing I have ever been a part of. I hope you all enjoy the updates, video, audio and pictures from our recording sessions...we are having a blast. Take care and I'll write again soon.
love ya later, Pat

Yes, it's true...we all make fun of eachother a lot. Videos like the "Tim Kiss" allow us to not take ourselves too seriously and get caught up in the "we are much bigger than we really are" mind set. I love Tim though, love him like a brother. He is a caring guy who would do anything for a friend....and he can also do this:
Tim Tim the Drumming Machine
Yeah, I recorded him doing that last night...and he is the man.
Tuesday, February 01, 2005
I am in the process of recording Tim's drum tracks for "With Him"....just thought you might like to know. We finished his parts for "Keep it to Yourself" and "Smile" last night and hope to get 4 more done this evening. A journalist from SBU-TV is coming here in a few minutes to do a story on the band and it's new studio/album, hopefully we won't come off as zeros. Ahh...the camera never lies.
Monday, January 10, 2005
Here is the deal, we are currently recording demos for the brand new album...and they totally rock. Timmy recorded drum tracks for the songs over this past weekend with me and Mike Garrison from Digitek Audio Visual(located in Bolivar NY. Give him a call at 585-928-1433 or email him for serious pro studio work...state of the art!) and it has really gotten me really excited about the new release. This week will be filled with band practices and countless hours mixing and editing the demos. Our next show at "the OP" should be a blast...it always is.
I can't wait to share this music for you. Currently, a few favorites are "Keep it to Yourself," "Touch of Class" and "Everywhere with Me."
Tim's silly ass was on America's Funniest Home Videos last night. It's only downhill from there...

Happy New Year!!!
Ahh, the innocent vibe of a new beginning. What will this year bring? A new NAVAR album!!!
We start recording at the end of January at Chameleon West recording studios in Buffalo NY, which will birth a full length release of all new material this year. So that is a promise… AT LEAST one new album in 2005! I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with another by Christmas, but I will keep my promises realistic and guaranteed for now.
Anyone who has been to the past few shows has gotten a taste of the new music and I hope you dig it. The songs are in the demo/development process right now and are really coming together wonderfully. I feel that the depth of the new material has really improved and the overall focus and uniqueness of the music will take NAVAR to new heights.
We have all these new features on the site, like new media and a tour diary…but there really isn’t a place to keep you all up to date on the progress of the album. Since it will give me a reason to write on this page, I will start doing it here!!
Take care and keep rockin, Pat

So I won a thousand bucks on the radio...
I want to fill you all in on the holidays and the last show at 3rd Base in Olean, but first I want to tell ya a little bit about my winnings on the Don and Mike show. Check out this excerpt from Don and Mike's Official Site :
Rich Eisen called in. It was 1 way to win big! Don and Mike said they would give one thousand dollars to the caller Rich deemed as the biggest kiss ass. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Finally, Pat from Buffalo got through and said, " Rich, I love you with the radio gods and you are a comic genius!" "Give that man a thousand dollars."
Merry Christmas to me....
I'll write more later...gotta work on these new album demos!

Good afternoon friends!
Well how are ya? Do you like the new and almost working site? There is a lot more good stuff on the way, including tons of pictures, video and even more audio. We posted some live stuff and radio appearances...check them out on the media page.
We have NEW confirmed date for THIS FRIDAY at 3rd Base in Olean. Consider this our little Christmas party for all our fans and friends...it will be one crazy night!!
Hmmmm, what else is going on? For those that have been out to shows recently, you will notice a lot of new material has been added to our set...I sure hope you dig it!! We have been playing "All the Rest" and "Please God Change" pretty regularly now...with lots more on the way.
If you are having any problems getting things to work on the site, please shoot me an email at pat@navar.net. Like I said...TONS more good stuff on the way here at www.navar.net
Take care and have a wonderful holiday season! ~Pat

yyeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
Phew…busy week! So great to be able to see all of you out though, lots of good shows! Here is a pic from my little brother’s (B-Rad) vocal performance for all-county. Rock on brotha!
Things have been busy, lots going on. We have added a road crew…one that is filled with character, determination and…most importantly…a lot of fun. Thanks again to Jim, Geoff, B-Rad and Jason for their incredible job at the Rochester show on Saturday night! Thanks to Brittany Garrison, Mike Zale and the Capitals for a jam packed night of outstanding original music…one that proved that the true passion of independent artists is alive and well in this area. Also, special thanks goes out to Ken Behn and Mike Garrison for their much needed time and care when it came to taming the reckless beast we call “water street sound.” We debuted a few new songs, including “Please God Change” and (what seemed to me to be an instant hit with the crowd) “All the Rest.” The reactions for these new tracks make me feel so excited about the next album. Anyway, that’s all for now. I will try my “one a day” posting schedule again. It’s tough when it gets hectic, but that’s probably the best time to post! Your loving friend, Pat

I am Blah Blah Blah
Hello friends…I hope all is well with you! It has been a rough few weeks for the Barry’s. My grandmother recently passed away, so I have spent a bit of time down in Southwest Florida for that with family. It’s always so nice to be around loved ones, but it seems like these “reunions” are all too often connected with loss and tragedy as you get older.
The band is very well though. We have a lot of exciting new things in the works…as well as a brand new set that we are currently slaving over. The new album is starting to come together, I really look forward to sharing it all soon.
I will write more of an informative post later today…or tomorrow. We have some new shows being confirmed, ones you WON’T want to miss :)

No more politics...back to the light and mundane fun
Before it gets too far…let me throw an update at ya. It snowed last night…and I am terribly freaked out. EVERY year something happens to me! Either its ice on the road, or a bambi that wants to play tag with my car…. I really am getting to hate winter.
We have a show this weekend in Meadville, PA that should be fun…but I am not too sure what to expect. The big show is on December 4th at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, NY. There is a lot riding on this show…so I sure could use all of your support. Not to mention the fact that we are going to rock the place like it never has been rocked before!
Boy, I’m full of stupid energy today. The band played basketball the other day, thank God no one was injured. Skip got me the new Tears for Fears album, it is very cool. I’m really digging that and the Garden State Soundtrack right now.
I guess that is all. Take care and I'll talk to you soon.

Do me a favor...
Make sure you all vote today...it's so important. I have not always been very political, but I have realized that this choice we need to make today and every Election Day is one that too many generations had to suffer and die for. I will no longer take that privilege for granted...and I ask that you think about that and do the same. Semper Fi to Hibbard and all the rest of my brothers overseas and here protecting on native soil...I am with you in spirit and think about you everyday.
Rock on,
Pat

Nothing too crazy today, just a tiring one. Tonight we practice at the diner...working on some new songs and getting ready for our upcoming shows. I think I am going to stay up all night and record until I pass out with exhaustion....
Life needs sleep...but life is good.

3 Missions down in GTA, and no, this post has nothing to do with the game...
I picked up the new Elliott Smith album last week on iTunes...and it's gorgeous. The cd is called "from a basement on the hill," and I suggest you check it out. It's so sad to know that unlike 2pac and his "ability" to keep pumping out albums....this will be the last bit of melody we get from Mr. Smith.
We all did an interview for an upcoming band website that asked the question "who do you regret never being able to see in concert" and my answer was Queen...
Ben pissed me off because he actually gave the question thought and answered it the way I would have wanted to. I wish more than anything that I could have seen Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley in concert...their passion and music have become such an inspiration to me and my work. I hope that someday you all will hear my words the way I hear theirs...in your heart and soul. Someday...
Two days in a row baby...going strong. Update city and I'm the mayor. I played a new song that I was messing with for the band last night...and then had it proven to me that it was eerily close to a rip-off of some stupid 80's rock song (that Tim annoyingly had on cue in his yellow lame-wagon). Hide the razorblades :)
Love you all, Pat

I promise that the new GTA will not ruin the band!
I hate not updating, ‘cause then I feel the need to make the next one HUGE and wait for more to say. I wonder how many band websites start an update with “I know I said I would update weekly but…” or “sorry it’s been 6 months, but things are going GREAT!” I hate to fall into line with all the others…but if the shoe fits…
So how is everyone? Anything new? New songs are in the works and recording starts soon for the new album. We have some tentative dates lined up, as well as a co-headlining tour that will absolutely knock your socks off!!
So, to give some goods, here is an mp3 of an acoustic performance I did on WMXO 101.5 FM Olean, NY during Parker Carson in the morning. Check it out here:
Your Window LIVE on Mix 101.5
You rock Parker, thanks bro! Ok, so what else? There is actually some cool new stuff posted to the forum. I posted some lyrics to a couple of the new songs, as well as an mp3 of a remix for a new song that I am working on. Check them out here. I think we are going to start playing some of the new songs at the Meadville show in a couple of weeks and continue to incorporate them into the set. That is all for now. I will talk to you soon and promise to make sense at least 30% of the time.

Hey strangers...
I can’t tell you how excited I am about the month of October…it’s gonna rock. Two NYC shows, lots of local ones….it doesn’t get much better than this! Today is my brother Benny’s birthday and yesterday was my Pops. We spent last weekend at my grandma’s house in Ft. Myers, FL… taking care of her. Please keep her and my family in your thoughts, it’s so hard to watch and feel yourself lose someone close.
On a lighter note, music is really coming together for our next album. I hope to start debuting some new stuff at our live shows and getting your take on them. This Friday should be a blast at the OP in Allegany…those shows for the St. Bonaventure students are ALWAYS memorable.
Anyway, take care and follow your heart. Are you happy? Life is too short not to be. Miss you all, can’t wait to see ya!
Love, Pat

My favorite candy
Lot's of cool stuff going on. As I posted in the forum, my favorite candy is Mike and Ike's and if you go to http://www.mikeandike.com you can hear our song "Mojave Shake" featured on the site!! Isn't that crazy?
So we have some really big shows coming up, especially the Arlene Grocery and CBGB's shows in NYC this October!
NOTE: If you are coming here from VINNIE FAVALE's site and dont see the regular navigational elements..... click here to get to the full site.
So my mom might be getting second book made into a frigging movie. I am just overwhelmed by all this news. Tim's sister Riki just acted last night in Tim Robbin's play "Embedded" in London and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were in attendance. All of this is getting out of hand and I don't know if I can handle it all. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!
Love you

My update page lives on...triumphantly!!
I’ve been pretty busy lately, but it’s all cool stuff. I got a chance to see one of my favorite new bands (My Chemical Romance) this past Monday and they totally rocked my world. I was so worried that they would suck live…but they commandingly delivered! Very cool. I also got a ton of new recording gear, including a new computer (Dual 2 Ghz G5 powermac) that has stolen every minute of sleep that it possibly could from me! Labor of love…
I have been writing lately, looking to start seriously demoing the new album. Did I say new album? Didn’t we just put one out?? Yeah, new album 2005…it’s a promise. Bigger and badder than the last…by far! Ok, it’s still long ways away…
Ben is on vacation in Massachusetts and will probably come back even more snobby than ever before (carrying around leather bound books and drinking scotch). Skip and I got a new TV (yes we live together…but we are NOT together). Tim has gotten really good at water skiing…good for him.
Later y’all

This poor site...
With all the activity on the forum, this poor little site gets no attention :(
Things are cool here. We have posted a whole bunch more music, video and pictures on the forum and will continue to do so. This includes a way to listen to the complete album in high quality audio for FREE!!! Check out the forum for more details. Did I mention the forum? Can you tell I am trying to get everyone involved with the forum???? Ok, enough.
I have also put together a few new pages on the site, including a U CAN HELP page. This bad boy is up to give you ideas on how you can help the band out on a daily basis....EASILY! All that is posted right now is the info on how to request NAVAR on a bunch of radio stations, but there will be a ton more ideas posted soon.
Thats about it for now. Take care and I'll see you on the forum :)

Ahh, the personal updates...
Yes, the updates on our pages have been lacking…but we HAVE been writing and posting like crazy on the forum. It has turned into a pretty cool little community where new pictures, audio and video have been posted daily. Check it all out here! I have been busy working on some new music and the band has been hella busy playing shows all over the place. We haven’t had this much fun playing live in a long time, so thanks for all who have been coming out and making every show a unique and special one. I’m totally geeking out on all the new gear I’ve been getting. I’ll start some threads on the forum about it all (for anyone who digs that kind of stuff), hopefully we can help each other on our digital adventures. I don’t have much more to say at this point, but I will try and spend equal time between here and the forum from now on. Lots and lots of cool things are on their way friends….I promise you that!
Take care and keep rockin!

News on the Stern contest
Check this out...its a message from Tom Gesimondo from the Howard Stern Show. He is the co-author of the restless, restless lyrics and a judge in the contest....
For what it's worth, I was talking to Vinnie today and I think your song is either a top 3 or right at the cusp. I don't remember if we spoke, but I liked that you kept the anger in it. I think the country verision is great. The Goulet version is great too. Is it parody? Well I know people will make fun of it and there is no market for that music, but it is well done. The third member of my top 3 is up in the air. There is your song, a version by Erik Garner and one by Bump that are right up there. Keep fighting the fight, lets see where this goes.
VERY good news!!

Announcing the NEW Forum!
I just wanted to invite everyone over to the brand new NAVAR Forum. This will be the best place to post questions, talk about shows, post pictures and chat about anything that is on your mind (That includes more than just stuff about NAVAR). I know that way too many other bands like to act like they are too busy to check the site and show interest...but we are going to embrace it! All of the band will be posting on a regular basis, so stop in today!

Have you seen my cowboy....hat?
Oh, the fun we are having. Good times over on the live chat…lots of nonsense and subconscious revelations from skipper. Speaking of that, Skip and I have moved in together…quite the bachelor pad. The town of Belmont will never be the same. Last night after practice we grilled and had Timmy and super fan Jim Burdick over. I also got to watch the Jeff Buckley DVD I just picked up. I know that Tim thought it was stupid…but that’s probably because JB’s drummer doesn’t HAVE to play with one arm.
Ben has become an elitist…his nose buried in classic novels and writing radiant works that Tim would never understand (unless it was a book on tape). Stop in to the live chat and join in on the banter. Former drummer Jamie has stopped in for a few hellos, as well as Boomer and the skipster. Lots of fun, loads of it….
Go pick up:
Life in the So-Called Space Age by God Lives Underwater Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge By My Chemical Romance Absolution By Muse Franz Ferdinand Fever to Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs …and absolutely anything by Jeff Buckley
That’s what I have been listening to lately….light a candle while listening and they will set you free.

I love you, I love you...... I like you?
How is everyone? Things have been pretty crazy during these past few weeks, including a “surprise” recording session. We went in to record for the “Restless, Restless” contest on the Howard Stern show. Listen in during the week of the 19th to hear our version, then call madly to tell them how much you adore it! Special thanks to Marc Hunt and Chameleonwest for dropping everything to accommodate us.
Here is what we had to work with:
Original version of "Restless, Restless" by Vinnie Favale on Howard Stern
And here is what we did:
"Restless, Restless" by NAVAR
If Skippy finds time in his busy schedule he will post some amazing footage of the studio and Tim dancing…as well as any other footage we have been waiting on for the past 6 months. I slammed my finger in the trunk last weekend, let’s hope the nail doesn’t fall off during the show on Friday night. Hope to see you all there….
Wednesday, June 30, 2004
If you read Skip's most recent update, you must be asking yourself...
Did he sleep with the short stout man in the pink tank top? Skippy doesn't kiss and tell, so we may never know what really happened.
Here are a couple of pics from MIA '04. Thanks to Adam and Buffalo Paul for images!

Lollapalooza is cancelled and skip and I had tickets….awesome.
It’s the beginning of a big, long weekend and I’m pretty excited about it. Two shows and then a “secret” trip to chameleonwest to record on Sunday. More details on that coming soon…
I have been trying to convince myself to stay in tonight, but you may see me trouncing around the streets and bars of Olean this evening…probably wearing something stupid. If Zach calls and asks for a partner in crime…I’ll go. I don’t want to look like a waste in his eyes. Last weekend he found himself getting grinded by some unknown girl against his will and when she handed him a marker to sign her shirt he wrote…
Pat Barry NAVAR
Doesn’t get much better than that.

Here is a pic from a past Broadway Station show. Thanks Christina!

Be advised...this post is indeed lame. Better luck next time.
Music is Art rocked…that’s all there is to it. Much to our surprise, we actually ended up opening for the Goo Goo Dolls that night! I know I haven’t written in a while, but good things are going on. Lots and lots of shows in July, hopefully there are a few in your area. Ben’s beard is full now, reminds me of “To Build a Fire.” I actually had a dream a few days ago that he had shaved his head and beard and only left a shaggy 70’s mustache. The nightmare woke me up in a cold sweat.

The albinos of the world have been chomping at the bit for this…
Everyone is always asking me what in the world NAVAR means (With a gun in your mouth, you only speak in vowels). Well here ya go, once and for all.
The guns, the bombs, the mayhem…it’s all about a girl. I met this girl in like 8th grade and we became best friends. We started dating and it was just about being together and enjoying the smiles and the laughs. Innocent. I moved away that next summer and that was where the relationship ended. If you know my music at all, you know that things have not gone so pleasantly since then. I think back to the profound beauty and virtue of that love and wonder if it can ever be that pure again. Everything is contorted now. Ruthless and unmerciful. The name of the band represents the innocence that was lost along with that girl. NAVAR is her name backwards.
I know this used to be a big secret….but there was good reason for it. When the band started I thought the use of her name was a perfect fit….BUT I had a girlfriend at that time. I felt that naming the band after a past love while I was involved with someone else was a situation I wasn’t too thrilled with dealing with, so I kept it a secret.
So there you have it. I sure hope it wasn’t a supreme letdown for everyone. I know it’s a bit sappy, but I think the overall theme has grown and become much bigger than some junior high love of mine. We all want to be happy, secure and carefree like we were at one point in our lives. I only hope to get back there before the worms come…and they will surely come.

It's our time...down here
Long weekend…and now I’m getting sick. Connecticut rocked, playing and hanging out with FBR is always a good time. Very cool to meet Kevin and his crew at the show, glad to have you guys as fans (and Glastonbury DOES NOT border Hartford)! I got a few calls from my good friend Kimya on Friday. I would be happy about this if I wasn’t under the impression that she was obsessed with my Mom and her books. I’m so jealous. We shot a lot of video this past weekend (and the NYC show), so hopefully if we continue on Skippy’s schedule we will see it in a few years. Speaking of that…

I found this picture of Skippy on his cell phone. Lord only knows what he used it for...Saturday was the seventh anniversary of the death of Jeff Buckley…a singer/songwriter that I only wish I could have known. I spent the day eating ridiculous amounts of convenience store food and wearing my sunglasses whenever it was inappropriate to do so. Hartford rocked, but the 14 hours in the car didn’t. The show at the Fillmore Hotel on Sunday night was out of hand…in a good way. I saw a lot of old friends, it was so cool to finally play for you all. I played a very old song called the “Legend of Mikey B,” a melodic satire of my good friend Mike….a song that just might work its way into our live show. Monday was a dreary one here in upstate NY, but I managed to get some much needed rest and to hang out with the family for the holiday. My friend Daryl had never seen Goonies (which is unheard of), so his girlfriend Jen and I forced him to watch it last night. I’m just glad that the tension between us (due to his inability to relate to the film) has finally been resolved. Tim still uses the word “Booyaa” a lot.

I am a golden god!
NYC = a blast! Special thanks to America's Sweetheart for having us on their show, along with Dick Van Dick and the Zambonis for a killer night of music. Here is a pic that Trish from AS took at the Siberia Bar:
Tomorrow we head to Connecticut to play with our good friends Famous Blue Raincoat...a show that we always look forward to. Sunday will be (close to it) the second anniversary of our very first show, so come out and expect one crazy party. So since Tim gave wind his latest post, he has been hog-tied and squeezed until he weased (proving to him that muscle does indeed make a difference). This will be the last I speak of this matter though, for fear that Tim's sister will attempt to beat me up (she is very protective of the little guy). Skippy eat so much he threw up last night...by the way.

That's the difference between breaking the bank and just breaking even
Tonight it’s a practice with the band, followed by wings and beer…tomorrow we storm the big apple. For those coming to the show, look out for a killer night of great bands and surprises. This has turned out to be our most important show to date; I hope you all are as excited as we are. I’ll see what I can do about capturing the weekend through photos and video (and actually post it!). Take care, and if we don’t see you on Saturday we hope to catch you in Hartford next weekend. Keep rockin…

As promised (a long time ago), here is the audio from the WMXO interview and performance (From 4/23). I only like "Buffy" the series better because Tim's sister Riki was on it...and I think she's hot.

Look at that old grizzly bear
I am very excited about this weekend. Sure, we play a lot of out of town shows….but our gigs in NYC always end up amazing. This past weekend was pretty action packed as well. On Friday I headed down to “the Buzz” (WSBU 88.3 St. Bonaventure, #2 College rock radio station in the country) and programmed a couple hours of music for my own show that will be playing all summer long. If you are in the Bonaventure/Olean area, check it out. I leafed through their music library and picked songs I dug, as well as some songs off our new album. Thanks to the Booge for letting me have free reign, sorry I didn’t let you beat me in pool.
Our manager Adam was a guest judge on the “Star of the Southern Tier” talent search on Saturday night while Ben and I headed up to Buffalo for a few shows. We checked out Anatara’s cd release party at the Tralf and the Juliet Daggers release party at Nietzsche's. I was very happy to get a chance to see Marc, Robby and the crew from Chameleonwest, as well as Bob Mussell and our friends from Klear and the Last Conservative.
This week will be jam packed with practices and enthusiastic primal screams. I will FINALLY post the acoustic performance of “Mojave Shake” from WMXO very soon, as well as TV segment on RNEWS in Rochester, NY. Lots of very cool things in the works, as well as some exciting shows around the corner. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Life is not to fear, life is to enjoy
Look at me, an updating machine. We were featured on XM radio this past weekend…which rocks. I dig it even more ‘cause that seems to be the key media tool for the future. I don’t have it, but im sure once Stern or O&A are cast there I’ll pick one up. We had last weekend off, so I lived it up with friends at the St. Bonaventure Spring Weekend. One night turned into 3 days of craziness. Thanks to Frank the Tank for the nickname, too bad that “Fonda” hasn’t stuck as well as he had hoped it would on me. B-Hanks endured an injury during an intense game of softball…but it was all for the love of the game. Congrats to the 5-year plan…good luck to y’all.
I just saw Adam run into the doorway and then try and save face. Priceless.
So my good friend Zach has put together a little something special (he actually used it for college). Check this out…

I always knew we would be better as a boy band

Well, it’s been too long. I have been pretty busy lately, but it’s been with some cool stuff. I headed out to see 3EB at Fairfield University in CT a couple weeks back and met some truly remarkable people on my trip….so I’m glad I went. A few days later I caught up with one of my favorite people in the world, the lovely and talented Kimya Dawson at a show with the Butchies at the Mohawk Place in Buffalo. She followed me back to the sticks where we stayed up all night talking about crazy lives, music and 3EB. Her new album rocks by the way. Intertwined with these shows were some killer NAVAR shows and a couple of cool radio appearances. The last Eve 6 show ever was last Sunday night at the Penny Arcade in Rochester so I made a point to check that out. I know they aren’t for everyone, but they are a band that I have always dug and it was sad to see them call it quits.
Anyway, this post is full of garbage…but I think I'm gonna continue to just write whatever is going on…regardless of its significance. I am on friendster for anyone that uses it under the email address pat@navar.net , but I will warn you that I’m a terrible friendster. Lots of cool shows coming up, I hope you all can make it out to some. I’ll write again soon…

Well here we are, swirled by the energetic hum that a new release emits. I must say that I am very proud of the new album. Most times something will get finished and then days or weeks later I will realize a part I wished was different. Sometimes I want to change the whole thing! It's been months since the recording was completed and in all honesty I wouldn't change a thing. That's a good sign in my mind...
Today marks the two year anniversary of a very monumental practice for NAVAR. So, we are talking about April 20, 2002 and the band was just getting started (about a month into practicing). At this point it was Ben and I and two other members (not Skip and Timber). By the end of that fateful day, a drummer decided to never show up again, my guitarist had his car catch fire and toast all his gear in the backseat and my psycho bass playing brother had punched me in the face. Whenever anyone asks how my brother and I get along so well, his fist pounding my face is the first thing that flashes in my mind.
The truth is that we do get along great...the whole band even! It's been a crazy two years. One big emotional rollercoaster. I would like to say "look what a difference a few years can make," but once I do I'll get a call from Tim saying he broke his leg scoring some SUBWAY, Skippy will get a deadly paper cut from one of the trendy paperbacks he carries around in his pocket and Ben will install a car-bomb on my Malibu.
I am very excited about the coming months. Thanks so much to all of you who have already picked up the album; I hope you enjoy what makes my heart pound. Send me an email at pat@navar.net with your thoughts on the new music, Id love to hear your take on it. Run down your dreams, they are what make life worth living. Take care ya'll and keep rockin.
Whoops...
You can tell he took this himself. Once you know that, you know that he probably tried a few times to get it just right. That means he thinks he looks really hot in this one.

Almost.....almost........almost.....
We are only days away and I can hardly contain myself. Adam has refused to grow his sideburns back and we are all pissed about that. Skippy got a new guitar that’s flash as hell and I am insanely jealous. Timber is exhausted from all the insanity that college basketball has to offer. Benny has had a rough week so we are all avoiding him like its our job.
We have had a lot of fun shows lately. The show this past weekend at Broadway in Hornell with Wet monkey turned out to be a blast. The show got crazy with a ridiculous number of guitar jumps and an impromptu “For Whom the Bell Tolls” duet with Rod from WM (Thank God for that ‘cause I never remember the words).
So I want to ask you all to come out on Friday and party with us, I guarantee an unreal time. We will have the new merchandise, new album and a truckload of rocking music from the finest bands in the northeast. Hope to see you there!

This and that...
Hmmm, for an update. I wanna pass along a very cool band from Connecticut called Famous Blue Raincoat. I caught a set at Mohawk in Buff and really dug their stuff. We have even added them to our release at Water Street in Rochester on April 9th…so you can all check them out too. We also snagged a show at the Other Place in Allegany for THIS FRIDAY (3/26/04). Opener Kindred Theory starts at 10 p.m. and NAVAR will follow. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon. Here is a little blast from the past…enjoy:

I have heard some nasty rumors, so this picture shoud clear things up:

Let us all pray for Skippy, his latest updates show serious signs of mental disturbance. These past few weeks have been pretty crazy, wrapping up the cd artwork and preparing for the release promotion that is to come. The response to “Mojave” on the radio has been tremendous; I can’t thank you enough for all the calls and requests to the area’s stations.
The album will be out on April 13th and will be sold on this site, lots of other online music stores as well as a ton of cd shops here in the northeast (to start). The cd will be filled with a bunch of cool stuff, including a brand new bumper sticker and a 16 page color booklet! Here is the track listing:
1. All You Need 2. Rock Bottom 3. Mojave Shake 4. Your Window 5. On Again 6. Everything’s the Same 7. Headcase 8. Walking to Hawaii 9. Dying Breed 10. Slumber 11. Hidden 12. Unphased 13. Near the End 14. Stay With Me 15. Triumph

Ben is an international celebrity. Paris loves the AdonisToday is Hawaiian shirt day, and I am just waiting for Milton to set the building on fire. Lots going on here…finishing up the artwork and getting things together for the new website. The single will be released next week to radio, so we will see how that goes. Skip’s latest update does scare me. There is more to that guy than any of us know….and I don’t know if it’s a good thing. Boomer (Ben) and I are getting along so so so so well, as usual. I am still driving around in the “band van,” creeping everyone out in sight. Timber has gotten three traffic tickets in like a week, we are all so proud of him. Let’s hope he’s not incarcerated during the spring tour dates. We have some cool shows coming up that will be confirmed very soon. I look forward to seeing you all this spring. Take care and keep rockin…

We are almost there my friends
The album gets finished this weekend and the single is only a few weeks away. I had a great trip to Paris and will try to share some pictures in my next update. I am tired and not feeling so hot, so I don’t really have much to say right now. I have talked about this song quite a bit, so here are some lyrics:
Your Window
One fell swoop and I’m involved again Stretching past my flaws You came to me to fix your life You came with nothing at all
Oh, you’re all alone You say I’m your window The door is closed And you pray I’ll come through I will save….you
I only hope that I’ll save you
Once we fall, there’s no turning back Risks like breaths we need to take Seize my words with so much caution I might be the one to break
Oh, you’re all alone You say I’m your window The door is closed And you pray I’ll come through I will save….you
I only hope that I’ll save you

Looooooong Weekend
Here we go, another update. This weekend was jam packed with many highs and one big low. We played a few shows including a sold out radio bash in Hornell on Saturday night for WKPQ 105.3FM and it was a huge success. Many thanks to the great bands that played with us (Tonal Distortion & Wet Monkey), you guys are incredible. I also want to thank the generous crew from “the Quest” for all their support. Devin Storm, CJ the DJ, Jonathan Mark and ever so popular Twisted Uncle Justin have really made a considerable difference in the progression of NAVAR…and for that we can’t thank you enough!
While on the road from the show I hit some bad weather and rolled my Blazer 3 or 4 times! Yeah, it was not a pretty sight. The vehicle is a mess and some of the gear that was in the back is dinged up, but I walked away from the whole ordeal with two small scratches on my hand. Looks like I still have some stuff left to do in this life…
Anyway, I am heading for Paris this weekend but will be back for our return to the OP (the Other Place) in Allegany, NY on 1/30. This machine we call NAVAR is picking up speed for what promises to be a remarkable ride this year. Sit tight, the album is right around the corner…

A surfboard big enough to have a picnic on?
To start things off, let me show you what I drove by this morning:
I am a little freaked out by it… Skip obviously has a lot of explaining to do. Anyway, last night I spent at the studio recording vocals for the album. We finished lead vocals on four tracks and look to get a big chunk of the rest of them done tonight. Recording and mixing will wrap up the first week in February and the first single will soon follow. The album release is getting bigger and bigger by the day, please sign up for the NAVAR Nation to see how you can help! We have a few really exciting shows coming up. The two shows this weekend should be a blast! It’s been a little while since we have been able to hit the stage and we definlety look forward to sharing all the new music from the album with you. Please come out if you are in the area, I look forward to seeing everyone! That’s about all I have for now. I’ll write again soon (I really will…Adam (THE manager) is demanding it!). Take care and keep rockin!
